New balls:  Below is a note from our league treasurer Jack Armstrong about the new balls that may be of interest - Bob Lee

In 2013, ASA switched to specifying a .52 COR, 300 lb compression ball for use with ASA approved single wall bats. Prior to that, the spec was for a .44 COR, 375 lb compression ball which is what the Diamond Zulu ball was that we had been using. If you're curious, you can google the difference between compression and COR for the balls and be as confused as I was. The old balls were higher compression but lower "bounce." The bottom line though is that the new single wall bats are optimized for this new ball. So you figure it means you're going to get better performance out of the combination.  Here are a couple of links that you might want to read if you want to know more. - Jack http://www.softballhitting.info/softballcorcompinfo.html http://www.justbats.com/blog/index.php/3226/asa-rule-update/
